Big Better Burgers (BBB)

I went to Big Better Burgers Ali Mall branch in Cubao last time. I'm into burgers lately, got curious with their burgers and because they have an afternoon promo for their quarter pounder burger! hihi! From 2-5pm, they're slashing the price of their quarter pounder burger to just 75 pesos. Original price is 87 pesos! (i think!)
Here are the pictures:

quarter pounder burgers and my spongebob table! :)

The Burger?
As you can see, it doesn't look so appetizing, i mean the bun was cut irregularly, small lang yung slice ng tomato and all, but the taste is actually ok, sulit na for its price. The patty is not dry, all beef patty talaga, the flavor is ok pero parang there's something missing pa din sa lasa. hehe! The bun? I don't like the bun that they're using, parang pandesal yung texture and taste. Too soft to hold all the filling inside the burger. maliit yung tomato! hehe! (2nd time ko nang sinabe!)

The Service?
Hmmm, well, I waited 20 minutes for my burgers to be served! Medyo mabagal ang service though the staff were nice. While waiting for my order 2 customers ang nagreklamo why wala pa order nila and why mas nauuna pang maserve orders ng ibang customer. Parang bago palang sila, there still adjusting siguro so I hope next time di na mangyari mga ganung instances.

The Rating?
 --- 7/10! :)

Estero in Ongpin

This is not really current (last May to be exact), but i'm very fond of the place that's why I blogged it!

I learned "Estero" from the net. Bloggers said that the food taste good, big servings and dirty cheap! Cheap you say??! Then I'm on it! haha!

Here are some of the food that we ordered:

Nido Soup (may bawas na! :p)

Shanghai Rice

Mixed Seafood

Buttered Chicken

We spent P270 on all these!!! wow!

What I like:
- the food taste great! more delicious than some most chinese restaurants out there!
- Cheap! really cheap!
- food is cooked fresh and upon ordering, plus you can watch them cook your food!
- big servings!
- they wide variety menu items! they even have exotic foods like frog legs!
- they have air conditioned rooms.

It's near the estero, so it can be a turnoff for some!
But can't complain about the food! two-thumbs up! :D

How to Clean Your Silver

How do you clean you silver jewelries and accessories? My mother taught me that the most convenient way to clean it is by using toothpaste and old toothbrush. I'm not sure if most of you guys is having the same practice. But just recently, a known jeweler visited us and taught a little something something about silver that I think is worth sharing. All you need is MSG or vetsin. :)

Cleaning Your Silver
The jeweler told us that it's better to use monosodium glutamate (MSG)/vetsin (aka. Ajinomoto) to clean it. Yes, the one you use for seasoning food. Just put a little on your palm, about half a teaspoon and a little bit of water. Then put your silver between your palms, and in circular motion just rub the msg on your silver. After 1-2 mins... viola!!! your silver is as clean and shiny as new!

He also taught us about different types of silver, pure silver and sterling silver (925). Most common silver here in the Philippines is the Sterling Silver (925) which is widely available. This type of silver is considerably more affordable but is prone to tarnishing and somewhat changes its color through time. But can be easily be restored by cleaning either by going to professionals or just by cleaning it at home.

Sumpan Noodles and Dimsum in Angeles City

It was our first time to visit these small restaurant along McAurthur Highway in Angeles City ( a few step from Casino Filipino Angeles). They specialized in chinese cuisine (halata naman sa name! haha!). I'm from Pampanga and when i was in high school, dinadaan toh nung jeep na sinakyan ko everyday papuntang school pero never ko pa na-try na kumain dito.

From SM Clark we rode a jeepney going to Angeles city. On our way there, my bf and i had an agreement that we'll check out the restaurant first and if we both didn't like it, we'll just go to Chowking for their Beef Wanton Noodles. hehe! When we entered the restaurant which looks really simple from the outside, without extravagant banners and all,so we're really not expecting much. Even if the place is small, it's tidy, without funky oders from cigarettes or kitchen smell. It was air conditioned by the way and the service crews have uniforms. We were impressed so we decided to try their dishes.

After choosing a table, the waiter immediately approached us with their menu. They have noodles, dimsum, rice toppings and pancit. I asked for one of their bestsellers and the waiter politely suggested for us to try their Beer Brisket and Wanton noodles, priced 140-145 pesos depending on the noodles, because you have to choose want noodle style you want, either Hongkong (thin) or Shanghai (thick), that's a difference of 5 pesos. I decided to try the shanghai noodles and my bf the hongkong style.

After 10-15 mins. of waiting, our orders came, they have large servings of the noodles. They serve it hot in a large bowl that looks very appetizing, with several slices of beef and wanton, with half-cooked mustard leaves (pechay)! Yum! (wish i took pictures!) Anyway, it tastes really good! i even think its better than Chowking's! haha! Ang dami nilang magserve ng beef, i think i have 7-8 slices ng beef sa noodles ko. Super sulit yung 145 ko and it really taste good and fulfilling. I'll definite go back again to try their other dishes naman. :D
